American Idol David Cook refuses to replace kids

David CookAmerican Idol finalist David Cook was asked to sing the U.S. national anthem at a Kansas City Royals game on May 9th, but because 25 school children were already booked, he made the Royals a compromise. He didn’t feel it was right to take away the kids’ turn to sing, so he’ll instead throw out the first pitch, and sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the 7th inning stretch instead. Cook was invited to the game because if he stays on American Idol past this week (and from the looks of it, he’s in no danger), and makes it into the Top 3, as part of the show he’ll be making a trip home to Blue Springs, Missouri, for a visit.

That was very nice of him to make sure that the children were not just discarded.

i’d rather sing take me out to the ball game than the national anthem any day.

who cares if he throws a strike, i just hope he actually gets the ball over the plate; it’s so embarrassing if you can’t even throw a ball that far.
