No more Narnia?

Disney has announced that there are no plans to make any more than three The Chronicles of Narnia movies, despite there being seven books in the series. Disney producer Mark Johnson confirmed the announcement at the New York Comic Con, and said the studio wants to focus on new franchises like the upcoming The Prince of Persia. This comes as a surprise to fans, considering how successful the Narnia franchise has been to date. The first movie in the series, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, has made over $745 million worldwide. The second film, Prince Caspian, will hit theaters May 16 and production of the third — and seemingly final movie — The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, will begin late this fall.
