Oscar nominations announcement
After multiple delays due to the Los Angeles fires, the Oscar nominees are set to be announced. Saturday Night Live cast member Bowen Yang and Saturday Night star Rachel Sennott have been tapped to announce the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards. The pair will announce the nominees in all 23 categories during a live presentation from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Thursday, January 23 at 5:30 am PST/8:30 am EST/1:30 pm GMT and 9:30 pm CST.

The announcement had originally been set for January 17, but was delayed until January 19 due to the fires, then pushed again to January 23. In addition, the voting period was also extended to January 17 and the annual Oscars Nominee Luncheon was canceled.

The announcement will be live streamed on Oscar.com, Oscars.org and the Academy’s digital platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook), ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu.

Final voting will take place starting February 11 and run to February 18, 2025. Conan O’Brien will host the awards ceremony on March 2, 2025. ~Ryan Donahue
