Oscar voter slams Meryl Streep’s August: Osage County performance

Even though Meryl Streep is up for an Academy Award for her performance in August: Osage County, not all Oscar voters think she gave a good performance. An unnamed member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences directors’ branch – and an Oscar voter – told The Hollywood Reporter that Meryl’s performance as neurotic mom Violet Weston was “bottom-drawer.” The unnamed voter just wasn’t impressed by her take on the role, or by Julia Roberts‘ work in the movie either, calling her performance “horrendous.” It seems like this voter is hard to please, because they criticized a slew of other buzzed-about films. The voter said that Her put them to sleep and Leonardo DiCaprio gave a “popcorn performance” in The Wolf of Wall Street. The unnamed voter did praise others, though, having been impressed by Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle and praising 12 Years a Slave for being “interesting, admirable and well done.” ~Yara Matar

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
