Paranormal Activity 2, which received an advance release in Toronto (thanks to fans in that city voting for it), appears to have been a hit all across North America, earning an estimated $41.5 million (all figures U.S.) at the weekend box office, earning first place. Tribute viewers ranked it 3.9 out of 5 stars. Last weekend’s top movie, Jackass 3D, moved to second place with $21.6 million and a Tribute Viewer Rating of 3.9 stars. The crime thriller RED starring the odd combination of Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren, earned an additional $15 million in its second weekend and the highest Tribute Viewer Rating with 4.3 stars, more than any other movie in this week’s top five. Clint Eastwood‘s Hereafter debuted in fourth, earning $12 million. Tribute viewers gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars. The still popular The Social Network continues to feature in the top five, earning an additional $7.3 million for a four-week total of $73 million, retaining its rating of 3.8 stars on Tribute.ca. Canadian box office results will be posted this afternoon.

Did anyone see Paranormal Activity 2 on the weekend? What did you think?

    I saw it..
It was ok.. I did jump out my seat and scream like 3 times.
The movie didn’t have 2 parts in the trailer. The trailer had Hunter on the street, and the trailer had a hooded person in the baby room, but the movie didn’t have that.. A little disappointing..
If it were a true story, I think I would have really enjoyed it.
Kinda funny how Katie went and ‘disappeared after the first movie, and ‘no one knew where she went’, and then she ‘magically’ shows up in the 2nd one as if nothing ever happened.

    Great, thanks Nancy!

I think because this one starts before the other movie, kinda like a prequel, but then it’s at the same time as the other one, and then it ends after the other one. If that makes sense.

This movie scared me so much that I twinkled on the seat and everyone ran away screaming, so sad.

    I love paranormal / ghostie movies…
I’d really like it much better if they actually caught a ghost on camera in real life..
For those people who love paranormal / ghostie movies, you have to check out:
    8213 Gacy House

I think its only available to rent.
