Paris Hilton arrested for cocaine possession

Paris Hilton was arrested for cocaine possession late Friday night in Las Vegas. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of drug possession but was released without bail on Saturday. Public Information officer Marcus Martin said the 28-year-old hotel heiress was in a car driven by her boyfriend, Cy Waits, when police noticed what they believed was marijuana smoke coming from it. Martin said officers searched the occupants of the car and found a small amount of cocaine in Hilton’s purse.  Paris was previously arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) several times, and spent 23 days in prison in June 2007 after she violated the terms of her probation. She was arrested in July after she was accused of smoking marijuana at a soccer World Cup game in South Africa, but the case against her was later dropped. She was also arrested and detained at an airport in Corsica two weeks later for possession of marijuana. That case was also subsequently dropped.
