Paris released from prison

Paris HiltonParis Hilton has gotten her way—what a surprise. She was released from prison Thursday morning due to a “medical” reason after serving just three days of her 23-day sentence (cut down from 45 days) in a Los Angeles detention facility. However, she’ll be under house arrest for the next 40 days, and will wear an electronic monitoring bracelet during that time. “It is not an early release—it’s a reassignment,” jail spokesman Steve Whitmore explained.

Gee I wonder if I could have done that. Sure she is under house arrest… all that means is that she will have a 40 day house party

Is anyone really suprised, I’m sure she will look just as “Hot” wearing the newest hollywood look(the ankle bracelet)while she lounges by her pool, hosting parties at home. Her servants can bring her the food she prefers, not the hotdogs she got in jail. If that is prison, sign me up.

  5. John • June 8, 2007 @ 9:50 AM

Who cares? Like we all didn’t see this coming. I think the tragedy is that someone like Paris- who has no discernable skills whatsoever, education or anything is getting so much press. If she was joe average we wouldn’t hear about her because she’d be barely qualified to work at McD’s. But because daddy has money, we all get to bask in the “poor little rich girl” drama…..

  6. Deb • June 8, 2007 @ 10:08 AM

I think we are all sick and tired of celebrity brats.. do the the time.. go back to jail Airhead!

  7. Robert Brady • June 8, 2007 @ 10:36 AM

I guess it just goes to show that there is laws for the rich and laws for the poor…I hope she doesn’t get too much tan by the pool laughing at the whole matter- can she live with herself?

  8. Kelly • June 8, 2007 @ 10:45 AM

Do me a favor please and just STOP reporting on people like Paris! She’s not worth the newsprint! The American justice system is crap and the judge involved should be ashamed of himself. Except he’s not because he’s probably having a drink at Paris’ house with daddy. Having tons of money is something anyone would want. But when you see people with money get away with this kind of thing – and even laugh about it – wow – what creeps they are!

  9. Joanne • June 8, 2007 @ 10:56 AM

What a load of crap. Funny how her “medical condition” just came from out of the blue…never heard about anything like that before. Isn’t there an infirmary in prison….set her up a cot and stop listening to her whining. Things like this is what is wrong with our world. I wonder what Mother’s against drunk drivers think of this. It’s an insult to all the families that have been affected by drunk drivers…everyone involved in this case should all go to hell.

  10. Tyler • June 8, 2007 @ 11:01 AM

    American justice served. Hardly.

Let free to commit the same crime.

At least she has a record now; lets see if this curtails her international jetsetting any.

  11. Sandy Smale • June 8, 2007 @ 11:09 AM

They have doctors in prisons or could have brought her physician in. Special treatment for the poor little rich kid is just pathetic beyond words.

It is going to set a standard for the rest to follow in this path. They are creating their own “brat” pack and simply need a good swift kick in the ass.

Do the crime, do the time just like everyone else has to. Angry indeed and likely she will now make electronic bracelets a fashion statement by creating a line of them.

Lord Help Those Who Cannot Help Themselves for they Know Not What They Do.

    The end

  12. Amanda • June 8, 2007 @ 11:14 AM

If MONEY is a “medical condition” then maybe I need to hang around her and hopefully its contagious. Its a blatent case of mommy and daddy + money squeezing someone influential enough to get her out of there.

  13. Marilynn • June 8, 2007 @ 11:23 AM

This is a shot at parents who work to intill morals, values and integrity in their children. It’s no wonder society is inundated with irresponsible, self-serving young people when they see that whining and a good lawyer can get you……….uh…pool parties. Shame on her parents for what they have taught her, and shame on Paris for being such a juvenile.
If her ‘medical condition’ is emotional, which I suspect, she should be doing her time in a mental institution.

  14. Judie • June 8, 2007 @ 11:29 AM

What happened to “I will do what is coming my way”? (as Paris said, not not the exact words??)
She just can’t handle it because of her spoiled background, thinking she can get away with everythng. You do the crime you to the time, no matter who you are!!! She has too many connections to get out of there, and she says “help” and cause she has the money, she gets her way!! As some have said, a lot of people get depressed and can’t handle it,but they don’t get out, who does she think she is? Who the heck gets out of prison because of a medical condition… put her in a psychic ward then, if she can’t handle it, one or the other! Obviously she has an alcohol problem too or she wouldn’t keep drinking and driving.
Lots of people get sent to the psych ward for mental problems and she definitely has one…. She sorely needs a reality check!

  15. JOANNE BAREVICH • June 8, 2007 @ 12:04 PM

Double standard or what, If I CRIED FOR MOMMY would it work for me? Oh …. I FORGOT I’m poor.

  16. Bill • June 8, 2007 @ 12:06 PM

So poor little Paris has a “medical condition” that calls for her to be released ridiculously early from jail and now she’s under house arrest? This medical condition seems to be squared away by a little pool time. “House arrest” in her house!?! Some punishment. Throw her back into jail and double her time and put her lawyer in there as her cell-mate!

  17. Linda • June 8, 2007 @ 12:08 PM

If that was just a plain ordinary person off of the street, they would have been spending more than just 45 days in jail. It would have been several months, maybe even more. It just goes to prove that as long as you are a celebrity like her, you can get away with almost anything. It’s not a great example for anyone else.
The way I see it, even the original 45 days was a slap on the hand and she got away with just a few days.

  18. Anonymous • June 8, 2007 @ 12:19 PM

What a complete joke! Put her back behind bars where she belongs!!

  19. Joan Crosina • June 8, 2007 @ 12:44 PM

P.Hilton, how can you be soooo void of conscience. You who has the venue to be a positive roll model for all young women.
How can the decision makers on this issue sleep at night? You know what’s really scarey! Had she killed someone…the outcome would probably be the same. Oh, maybe not. She might have gotten 50 days with a release after 4 days. All other inmates… try to inherit the same “medical” conditon. Do we know when she gets her licence back or has she got it already.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving …this is an unjust issue for you to pursue.

  20. Christine • June 8, 2007 @ 12:52 PM

She is such a big suck and baby! She will learn no lesson except money does buy you special treatment.

  23. Brittany • June 8, 2007 @ 1:06 PM

Go freakin figure. The one opportunity for her to learn a lesson and grow, and they take it away from her. Is anyone really surprised?? Judging by all these comments not really. All you can really do is shake your head. What a joke.

This is just to show you how corrupt the system is… this woman is going to do it again – she never learnt, she never paid the price for her actions. Well — it won’t be long before she is in trouble again.

  26. Charmaine • June 8, 2007 @ 1:22 PM

For some folks, ‘shtupping’ the system is an art form, something to boast about, obviously. This decision is shameful but, unfortunately, the “American way”….”fair treatment” for only those who can afford it, right?

  27. Rudalph Ransom • June 8, 2007 @ 1:42 PM

We all saw this coming, and the news media makes an even bigger story out of so little.

God bless the American ways of law!

  28. Anonymous • June 8, 2007 @ 1:47 PM

ya… money did have a lot to do with this. But who the fuk cares? it’s not like she was drunk or as if she killed or raped someone! it’s not that big a deal… you’re just jealous of her money admit it. Focus on the real offenders please. Driving without a license is bad yes but does not deserve that long of a jail sentence. besides if she does it again then it should be taken into consideration. But tell me how many of your tax dollars go towards feeding and housing jail inmates? look it up u’ll be surprised. That cell could be used for someone who actually is sick. Paris is just stupid…. and it would be a total waste of our money.

  29. Mike • June 8, 2007 @ 1:50 PM

Does it really surprise ANYONE,who is she anyway?A daughter of a millioniare, who most of you people made famous buy watching her smut on the net.Or went out and bought her sleezy sex videos.Hell I hear she has a new movie out on dvd.Just remember,YOU people allow all this by listening and watching her on the tv and internet. In my eyes, she’s not at all pretty.and I think she’s a slutty little rich brat. And if YOU people would not give her the time of day..SHE WOULD BE A NOBODY.

  31. Robyn • June 8, 2007 @ 2:00 PM

what a spoiled little bitch…who didn’t know that that was going to happen…i hate her sooo much and she should be made to go back to jail or live without her money for the 40 days!!!! see how much she likes that

  32. Nancy • June 8, 2007 @ 2:29 PM

Poor Paris, was her medical condition due to a “rash” she got off due to the low thread count on the sheets?

  33. Glenn • June 8, 2007 @ 2:34 PM

She’s a wasted sperm! Ignore her and maybe she’ll go away. I wonder who got the payoff??

  34. A. • June 8, 2007 @ 2:45 PM

How does checking into her cell late Sunday and being out before sunrise on thursday morning = five days??? Or can’t the judge and lawyer even count. Medical condition? Yeah, right. If she was freed right now to come and go as she pleased, she’s be boozing it up at the closest disco and we all know it. I agree with many of the other posts here – since when do we release inmates to their homes after a few days because of “I don’t feel well” or whatever ‘condition’ they’ve concocted in the last few days. I don’t see her being admitted to hospital for anything. But that drama will probably be next. This “I will do my time..and be stronger for it. I’ve grown…” I think we all saw through that BS. Should someone be harmed by her future behaviour, let the blood be on her hands, and that of her parents, the judge and her lawyer. “Don’t worry sweetie, mommy and daddy will take care of everything. Nobody’s gonna teach our little girl anything..”. I think someone needs to throw the book at the judge while we’re at it.

  35. Sarah • June 8, 2007 @ 2:47 PM

WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!!! Money talks & bull**** walks. She is a huge nobody, she has done absolutly nothing with her life other than show her ass for free and this has made her a face we all have to deal with. Any other regular Joe would have to sit and rot in jail and do the time. HOW UNBELIEVABLY UNFAIR!!! What makes her better than the rest of us….oh, yeah, MONEY!!! I vote a Paris boycott…NO MORE PARIS!!

  36. Sandra • June 8, 2007 @ 2:47 PM

I haven’t heard that they are taking away her drivers licence for any length of time. That should be done atleast.

  37. David • June 8, 2007 @ 3:51 PM

If there was a medical problem then there is the prison hospital, regular hospital with armed guards or where she really needs to be in a psychiatric hospital. As others have said laws for the rich and then there laws for the rest of us.

  38. Katharine. • June 8, 2007 @ 4:29 PM

woah , people worry to much about this kind of stuff , she is a big girl . she can do what she wants though its not the best descition. and any way i know people that have just gotten a house arrest for driving drunk , and iam 13 so whats it to you to say anything at all.

  39. Mary • June 8, 2007 @ 4:33 PM

When is the media going to bury this nobody? She may have money but she’s a real loser. There isn’t much more to add as everyone before me has said it. I really would like to see MADD go after this one. What does it say for the justice system, well actually there are two one for us, and one for the Paris Hilton money people. Why do we have to have her in our faces all the time What is she famous for a smut movie . ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!

  40. Shelley • June 8, 2007 @ 4:33 PM

That’s o.k., just wait until after her sentence, people will be booing, spitting at her, etc.
Paris will join the “GUILTY BUT FREE CLUB” with the likes of O.J.Simpson.

  41. Connie • June 8, 2007 @ 4:38 PM

You’re 13 and you’ve barely even lived. You’ll find out that decisions and their consequences are life-changing and should be taken seriously. Paris chose to drive under the influence of alcohol. She easily could’ve killed someone…AND you say, “she can do anything she wants though it’s not the best descition (decision).” Think again! Yes you can do anything you want…but it doesn’t make it right!!! There still is the RULE OF LAW! But I guess the rich think they are not under the RULE OF LAW!!!! That’s not new!!! LOL!!!

  42. james • June 8, 2007 @ 5:13 PM

the rich never do all their time and the poor and unknown have to do all their time. look what money can buy you, less time in jail. if she is that sick I’m sure the prison doctor could see her like they would with anyone else. i at this time don’t feel sorry for her, do the crime do the time is my way of think no mater who you are.

  43. The Rest Of Us • June 8, 2007 @ 5:30 PM

    Why is everyone so upset?
Prison and jail is for the poor. Sure they make an example every now and then so that they can say that the system applies to everyone, but the reality is that it doesn’t. If youre rich, you don’t go to jail. The law does not apply to the rich. It was designed to protect them from the rest of us not impede them.
So suck it up folks thats the way it is.

  44. I agree with all • June 8, 2007 @ 5:39 PM

The bitch should be in jail where she belongs. What did she screw the judge to let her out? She is just a spoiled little rich bitch. Put her back in jail and let her rot. She does not deserve to be treated any better then any other criminal. The justice system need to wake the hell up and start punishing all the “rich” criminals too. They say we have a fair justice system, how is letting her off so easy fair???

  45. Old hippie • June 8, 2007 @ 6:20 PM

Everyone relax, the Judge threw her ass back in jail since they didn’t forward any medical info to him to justify the Sheriff’s office decision.

  46. anni • June 8, 2007 @ 6:21 PM

She is fodder for the every late night talk show or standing comic…….Sarah Silverman you rein…….you said in front of millions with her in the audience… one has done that to her face…..lets do it more and more so that her jail term outside will be forever as it should be…….you mess up, fess up and do the time!!!

  47. Judith Verhey • June 8, 2007 @ 6:36 PM

What a load of crap…BULLSHIT!!! She should be treated just like anyone else…brought to the infermary and tended to by the doctors and nurses there, every other prisoner only has this choice or if it was a real emergency they would have brought her to the hospital, treated her and returned her to the detention centre!! No going home under house arrest…just goes to prove money does buy everything!!!!

  48. Judi • June 8, 2007 @ 6:51 PM

I think this child gets too much attention, which is loves. I also think it is offensive that she served such little time. I guess the judge couldn’t resist the money. I believe what goes around comes around. I would pity her parents but she is a product of them and they made her what she is by bailing her out of everything and not having her serve any consequences.

  49. Anonymous • June 8, 2007 @ 7:21 PM

All human but this is all B.S. Because some of us are not famous we’d certainly pay the price. Hey Paris & Mom & Dad WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU TEACHING YOUR KID ? JAIL ! Go to jail do not pass go ! Do not collect $$$$ !
    Yeah right !!!!!!!!!

  50. Frances • June 8, 2007 @ 7:29 PM

I really think that the more comments that are written then the more glory goes to her as the following of celeb-braties continues!
The worst or the best would be to ignor the whole thing and not publish a word of it and she should do the time !

So the little porn queen couldn’t hack it in the real world. Well, it’s nice to see the judge didn’t believe her “medical condition” was anything more than her being a little crybaby. I especially like the idea of the county sheriff (the guy who made the decision to let the little princess out) possibly facing charges of “contempt of court”.

And for all you idiotic Paris fans – get a life. Yes, she was put in jail for breaking probation. Why was she on probation? Because she was stop WHILE DRIVING DRUNK. She got a bloody slap on the wrist because of who she is and because she didn’t kill anybody WHILE DRIVING DRUNK. She should have been thanking her lucky stars but when you don’t have two brain cells to rub together S__T happens!

  54. Anonymous • June 8, 2007 @ 10:37 PM

    OH MY G**!!!!!!

give me a break! She broke the law…repeatedly…and she flanted her status as a celebrity in order to gain special treatment. This will just be another reason for her to think she is above the real world and the laws that govern the rest of us and to flaunt it in the face of us who do live by those laws…..

PUHLEASE….somebody stand up and tell this group of celebrity nare-do-wells that this has to stop!!!

  55. theresa • June 8, 2007 @ 11:17 PM

hey she is going back to jail saw it on television tonight, popo picked her up and brought her back, she is appealing the decision of the judge but nothing can be done until Monday! Boo HOO! Poor Paris one weekend in jail!lol!

At the risk of sounding quite brutal and mean spirited, I really wish that Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and Nicole Ritchie would fall off this planet. There are so many important and serious “world issues” going on right now. Not to mention countless innocent soldiers dying in Iraq. For the life of me why on earth do we need a blow-by-blow of the life of the ridiculously rich, famous for nothing, unattractive, unintelligent, insensitive, spoiled, selfish, nonsensible and unimportant people in the sick world of Hollywood. No matter what these people tell you or try to portray…they are miserably unhappy. That’s why they die young from drugs, alcohol and wild living. They are trying to fill the bottomless void because they are consumed with SELF! Both of Paris Hilton’s parents should be ashamed for raising a daughter like this. They have failed as parents and yet again, society has failed and the judicial system has failed by not let her serve her full 45 day term just like everyone else who snubs their nose at probation and who drives drunk. How many people have to get killed before people stop drinking and driving? But here we go again, where society says that when you are rich, money talks! Truly sad. I really wish there were UFO’s and that they would take all of these hollywood brats, shove a probe up their arse and remove them from this planet. What a wonderful world it would be and the most amazing gift to mankind!

  57. A. • June 9, 2007 @ 4:19 AM

Give me a break. I’ve never heard of anyone’s sentence being cut in half just because they showed up in court LATE.

  58. Mary • June 9, 2007 @ 9:21 AM

After seeing all the media frenzy and reports, I am wondering if we will be bombarded once again by the likes of the time consumed covering the Anna-Nicole Smith tragedy!

Unfortunately, this young woman does not appreciate and will never appreciate how the rest of the world lives.Perhaps and hopefully, after this experience, her outook on life and fellow-men will make her a better person.

  59. Anonymous • June 9, 2007 @ 11:47 AM

outrageous! she deserves to spend her sentence in jail just like the rest of us average joe’s would! Just because she’s rich, (not that she’s contributed ANYTHING to society) attractive, and and convinced she can always get her way, she thinks she can get away with anything!

  60. Jasmine G • June 9, 2007 @ 12:46 PM

Sad…shows you the state of things when you own a hotel chain or have any monetary influences. I’m not interested in lining her Daddy’s pocket anymore either, Fours Season and Ritz Carlton Hotels etc for us… from now on!

People…we have to ignore all that has to do with this stupid blonde, Hotel chains, music, adds, perfume and anything this Bitch is into! Stop feeding her more money and fame! Please!!! Thank you!

  64. Anonymous • June 10, 2007 @ 1:43 AM

oh give me a break all of you…if you could do this, you would and after all it was only a driving infraction, it wasn’t like she killed someone…actual criminals get away with more in court because of good lawyers, guilty or not!!!

  65. Anonoymous • June 10, 2007 @ 3:03 AM

I have already lost 3 family members to a drunk driver and do not want it to happen again. I wonder what the Lawyers and the Judge will do when she re-offends,like she did before, but this time ends up killing somebody. Not only will she be guilty of bloodshed, but I will hold them responsible as well. This is definitely sending the wrong impression out to our young people. This is telling them, listen as long as you have money we will keep working for you, getting your sentenced reduced until you just have a slap on the wrist. Just show us the puppy dog eyes. Is that how it is going to work from now on. I HOPE AND PRAY NOT. I was hoping the judge and lawyers felt the same way… guess not.

  67. Sunny • June 11, 2007 @ 5:29 PM

Why is she treating any differently from others? Give me a break!!! Paris should have sent back to the slammer for her wrongdoing…no more ‘medical’ craps. How is she going to learn from her mistakes and moving on with her life? This incident is set a bad precedent for many others to come.
