Patrick Dempsey rescues teenage car crash victim

By Tribute on April 30, 2012 | 8 Comments

Patrick Dempsey may play a doctor on TV, but last week he had the opportunity to prove he’s not just a pretty face when a teenager lost control of his Mustang and flipped it over three times, coming to a halt upside down on Dempsey’s front yard in Malibu. Weston Masset, 17, was barely conscious and remembers being frightened for his life when the local hero came to his rescue. Dempsey, who saw the accident, quickly jumped into action and ran to the damaged vehicle with a crow bar. He managed to pry open a door and pull out the injured teen. Weston later told ABC News that he looked up and asked, “Are you famous?” Dempsey replied, “Yeah, I’m a doctor.” Dempsey — a father himself — stayed with the boy until a helicopter came and airlifted him to a local hospital. He then called Weston’s mother to tell her what had happened. Luckily, Weston is expected to make a full recovery after suffering a concussion and a minor eye injury.  “He was there for me. It would have been a lot worse without him,” said the grateful teen. ~Krystin Edgerton

Patrick must have picked up a few tips on all those episodes. Nonetheless, Q for the parents? 17 years old driving how many horsepower? Got to wonder at their wisdom. . . . .

What an excellent read this was. Almost like watching a television show! Good on you Mr. Dempsey, +rep for keeping your sense of humor during such an high octane situation.

Imagine the mothers reaction picking up the phone and having Patrick Dempsey tell her her son was in a accident.

Yeah, because the rest of us would let the teen die on our yard.

Hahahaha no body important has a poin that I was just thinking then I read his thread haha very funny. Hey you know it’s true. On the highway if he stopped that would of been a better story. But considering the situation it’s fantastic that he didn’t let his servants do it for him. Not that he has any but a typical guy like him with his fame might be to scared to do something like that. You never know right? Great leadership and heroism from Patrick! Awesome bro 🙂 you’d be surprised how many dead beat zombie followers in this “Matrix” world we live in would of just dialed 911. Awesome!

Is it just me or does this story just seem a little to convenient? It would be normal if he flipped his car and it landed on Dempsey’s lawn. However the fact that he came out and saved the kid and the first word out of the boys mouth was “are you famous?” HELLO! Something tells me somehow this kid flipped his car on purpose. It seems all to convenient. People will do anything for five minutes of fame.
