After serving as a stand-in for his brother, Paul Walker, on the set of Fast & Furious 7, younger sibling Cody Walker will return to the car race franchise in an original and more substantial role. Following Paul’s untimely death, the fate of his character, Brian O’Connor, became uncertain. With O’Connor set to retire from the Fast and Furious series, the spot left vacant by Paul’s absence will be filled by his real-life brother, who is rumored to join the racing crew as O’Connor’s onscreen brother.
Siblings Cody and Caleb Walker previously worked as Paul’s body double to assist the filmmakers in completing unfinished scenes for the seventh installment, which was shooting at the time of his deadly car accident in November 2013. Production is already underway on Fast & Furious 8 in California, where Cody was spotted filming with co-star Jordana Brewster. Fast & Furious 7 is set to be released April 10, 2015.
