Philip Seymour Hoffman’s diaries show he was a cheat

New details in Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s sudden death are surfacing and journals he kept suggest he was dealing with more than just drug problems. Two diaries discovered in the actor’s New York apartment by cops reveal the Capote star was involved with another woman besides his longtime partner, Mimi O’Donnell, according to law enforcement sources. Hoffman was “caught in between” his relationship with the mother of his three children and another woman with whom he hooked up shortly before his death on February 2. The late actor’s revelation also suggests that the other woman may have been the reason for his separation from his longtime girlfriend, which occurred around three months before his sudden death.

The journals outlined the Oscar-winner’s drug woes, revealing that O’Donnell also didn’t want him living in their home while he was using. Hoffman’s journal entries consist of both illegible scribbles and soul-searching entries. He mentioned he was haunted by “demons” and was desperate to kick his drug habit. Hoffman was clean for 23 years before relapsing a few years ago following a drink at an after party. ~Yara Matar
