Tauriel

This Woodland Elf is not an original member of the book series, but a character generated from the minds of Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh to expand on the world of elves in the Mirkwood Forest, as explored in The Hobbit series. Her rash and impulsive behaviours make her a skilled woman who does not hesitate to kill. Evangeline Lilly was a fan of Tolkien's books since the age of 13 and agreed to portray Tauriel under the condition that there would be no love triangle in the plot. Needless to say, the expansion of The Hobbit series called for an exception. She has taken her role very seriously, employing both a stunt coach and a language coach, to help perfect the Elvish language.
