Lester Burnham (Kevin Spacey) - The big winner at the Oscars in 2000, this drama (with its fair share of dark comedic moments) ends as Lester reflects on the few precious moments that gave his otherwise empty life color. Before he's killed, he describes some of his meaningful experiences and explains the way life flashes before one's eyes at death's doorstep. Acknowledging the obscurity of his own monologue, but suggesting it will make sense at some point, he says, "You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry: you will someday." Beautiful and heartbreaking in equal measure.
