Planet of the Apes (1968)

George Taylor (Charlton Heston) - After human couple George and Zira (Kim Hunter) escape from their ape captors, they find themselves free on an isolated beach. Riding a mighty steed across the sunny shoreline, they glance up to discover a sunken Statue of Liberty -- a very long way away from its home in New York City. Quickly realizing that this "alien" planet is actually the decimated remains of Earth years after a nuclear war, George slams his hands into the wet sand and rightly damns us all. "You maniacs! You blew it up!" he screams. "Damn you! God! Damn you all to hell!"
