Jackson ‘Jaxx’ Briggs – Trevante Rhodes (The Predator)

This is a casting choice that may be tough one to swallow for some as the most popular fan choice for Jackson "Jaxx" Briggs has always been Michael Jai White. Though he has portrayed the character in the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series, getting him to reprise the role in the rebooted film franchise would be a little too distracting, especially if his style of performance isn’t suited for the direction the reboot decides to go in. Instead, someone like Trevante Rhodes should be cast for the role originally played by Gregory McKinney in the 1995 film, and later Lynn “Red” Williams in the sequel. Rhodes does have the ability to play up comedic banter as seen in Shane Black’s The Predator, but he can also bring some dramatic gravitas as seen in Netflix’s Birdbox.
