Pandora – Avatar

Where would a list of interesting fictional settings be without this record-breaking film? The moon world of Pandora that director James Cameron introduced us to in 2009 was by far the film's biggest selling point. With Avatar's setting and the immersion that came with its revolutionary 3D filming, audiences were captivated by Pandora's luscious forests, hexapedal animals, and eye-popping bioluminescence. It's no surprise then that the land of Pandora was added to Walt Disney World in Florida at their Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and though the film's overall pop culture relevance is arguable, it may not be surprising if Avatar's upcoming sequels remind audiences of the beauty of Pandora.
