John Hurt – Spaceballs

Mel Brooks' classic 1987 sci-fi spoof Spaceballs is without a doubt one of the more memorable comedies of the '80s. Taking jabs at practically every major hit, it's no surprise then that one such film was Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror flick Alien. What is surprising is that Brooks and company recreated Alien's iconic chestburster scene with Alien star John Hurt, credited as himself. His cameo comes early in the film, as Bill Pullman's Lone Starr and John Candy's Barf stop by a space diner to grab some grub. There they witness the recreated chestburster scene after Hurt orders the diner's daily special. Considerably less bloody, Hurt instead acknowledges that this is in fact the second time this has happened to him, as the alien creature dances off.
