Warrior (2011)

With the rising popularity of mixed martial arts the last couple of decades, Hollywood saw fit to take advantage with this 2010 film. Director Gavin O’Connor infused the typical tropes one would expect from a sports film with gripping family and character-driven drama thanks to stellar performances from its two leads—Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy—as well as an Oscar-nominated performance from Nick Nolte.
