Molly Ringwald

At the height of her fame in the 1980s, Molly Ringwald just couldn’t escape the role as the angsty, sharp-tongued teenage girl whom she first epitomized in the coming-of-age film Sixteen Candles. Following her breakout role as Samantha Baker, Ringwald found herself cast in even more films by director John Hughes, including The Breakfast Club (above right) and Pretty in Pink, both of which found her playing essentially the same character (albeit from different financial backgrounds). After the ’80s were up and Ringwald's fame started to fade, she tried to break from her typecast. In recent years, she’s found work playing a mom on series such as Riverdale (above left) and Raising Expectations.
