Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones – Jane and Stephen Hawking

During one of the first few days of filming The Theory of Everything, Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne were visited by their true-life characters, Stephen and Jane Hawking. In an interview with Collider, Jones explained this interaction helped the actors develop their critically acclaimed performances: “They’ve got this very dry sense of humor and an unsentimentality. There’s absolutely no self-pity from either of them, for what they’ve been through.”  Jones and Redmayne also paid multiple visits to an ALS clinic in London together to gain a better understanding of Hawking’s health decline.
