Margot Robbie – Tonya Harding

In I, Tonya, Margot Robbie played disgraced figure skater Tonya Harding through the rise and eventual fall of her fame. She wore permed wigs, met with the real Harding for pointers and also trained extensively for the figure skating scenes she would have to perform for the movie. However, despite all this training, neither she nor any other skating double could perform a triple axel for the film, as Harding is one of only a few female skaters able to pull off such an elaborate jump. The film earned various awards, with Robbie earning great critical praise for her outstanding performance, including nominations from the Academy Awards and Golden Globes.
