Meg Ryan

Meg Ryan was once the go-to leading lady in romantic movies. She acted opposite Billy Crystal in When Harry Met Sally and played Tom Hank’s love interest in both You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle. In recent years, however, Ryan has abandoned her place in front of the camera in favor of standing behind it. In an interview for Gwyneth Paltrow’s “In Goop Health” event, Ryan admitted she never wanted to be an actor and actually studied journalism at school, but gradually fell into acting. Now she’s pursuing directing but admits, “For the most part, I had a lot of fun [acting].” So at least she isn’t bitter about her unintentional career.
