The veteran actress from Miami, Florida has been around the business since the 1980s with many memorable roles over the years. Two of those roles resulted in Oscar nominations for Best Supporting Actress —in 2000 (Being John Malkovich) and 2006 (Capote). Both years she walked away empty-handed at the awards show, losing to Angelina Jolie for her performance in Girl, Interrupted and Rachel Weisz for her performance in The Constant Gardener.
