Edward Norton (3 Oscar Nominations)

Despite his notorious reputation for being a difficult actor to work with, there’s no denying that Edward Norton has consistently backed it up with a career filled with stellar performances. However, in spite of that talent, Norton has still come away with zero Oscars in three attempts following nominations in 1997, 1999, and 2015 for Primal Fear, American History X, and Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), respectively. Unfortunately for Norton, those three years saw him run into some powerhouse performances by Geoffrey Rush in Shine, Roberto Benigni in Life Is Beautiful and J.K. Simmons in Whiplash.
