In 1983, an unknown named John Stamos got his start as Blackie on the popular soap opera General Hospital. That road eventually led to his role as Jesse Katsopolis on the sitcom Full House from 1987 to 1995. Unfortunately, he was typecast due to the latter and had to work hard for years to be taken seriously. The hard work paid off and he played Tony Gates on ER from 2005 to 2009, Dr. Carl Howell on Glee from 2010 to 2011, and is starring in the new TV series Grandfathered, not to mention the Full House sequel series, Fuller House.
