Ed Norton

In 2008, Ed Norton starred as The Incredible Hulk. As the Marvel franchise of superheroes grew and became more successful, Ed Norton was not asked to reprise his role. What does that tell you? Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige told MTV.com: “We have made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the title role of Bruce Banner in The Avengers. Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.” He may be a perfectionist and passionate about his art, but he demands full script approval and often argues with his directors for control. Tony Kaye, the director of American History X, tried to have his name removed from the credits in 1998 when Norton re-edited the entire film.
