With a career spanning over four decades, it would only seem natural that Drew Barrymore would make the leap from actress to director, and she did just that in 2009 with Whip It. Barrymore’s debut was praised for its girl power atmosphere and heartwarming story lifted up by Barrymore’s solid casting choices. Charming and energetic, the film was very much evocative of its director. Since then, Barrymore hasn’t done much directing aside from a video short titled Best Coast: Our Deal in 2011. She’s moved on to producing, with only a handful of acting roles, including the Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet.
