Reservoir Dogs (1992)

It’s hard to believe this was Quentin Tarantino’s first film -- it is unbelievably good. It tells the story of a jewelry heist gone wrong when there appears to be a police informant in the team and features Tarantino’s signature style and dialogue, which we've come to know and love.

Those movies are all great examples. But don’t forget the classics such as “Key Largo” etc. Bogart and E.G. Robinson still the best after all these years.

You can add Casino to this list. This could almost be called mob movies. DeNiro and Pacino certainly made their mark on the genre, you can’t avoid those 2 but why would you want to.
