The Producers (2005)

This 1950’s-set farce skews live-theater, featuring two down-on-their-luck producers with the perfect plan. Sick of producing failed Broadway plays, Max (Nathan Lane) and Leo (Matthew Broderick) come up with a scheme, raise more money than they need and produce the most offensive play imaginable so no one will touch it, pocketing the surplus. With a script written by an escaped Nazi and a wacky Swedish bombshell (Uma Thurman) in the lead, what could go wrong?
