Best Art Direction: The Great Gatsby (2014)

Lavish, excessive, and full of splendor are words often used to describe director Baz Luhrmann’s portfolio of work. That said, his adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby had a more than perfect pairing with production designer Catherine Martin and set decorator Beverley Dunn doing an impressive job of recreating the period. It’s no surprise then that it’s my choice for the top art direction of the decade.
