Best Foreign Language Film: A Separation (2012)

With the continued growth of the internet, international cinema has grown even further in regards to its accessibility to the west. As a result, more foreign cinema has made its way over and the results have been amazing. Of the decade’s past 10 Foreign Language Film winners though, none can top 2012 Oscar winner A Separation from Iran. Asghar Farhadi’s beautiful drama about the difficult decision facing a married couple is both devastating and relatable, and one that transcends language barriers.
