Schindler’s List

Steven Spielberg's Holocaust epic, Schindler's List, made Oscar history at the 1994 ceremony by becoming the first war film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture since Platoon in 1986. The moving biopic of Oskar Schindler was a 12-time nominee and won seven awards, including Best Director, Best Original Score and Best Adapted Screenplay. Being such a seminal work in portraying the horrific events of the Holocaust, it's no surprise Schindler's List was ranked the eighth greatest movie of all time by the American Film Institute.
