The Sting

In 1974, the crime drama The Sting was not just a huge box office hit — it scored seven Academy Awards. Director George Roy Hill won, the film was honored in the editing and costume design categories, and it also topped other classics such as American Graffiti and The Exorcist to claim Best Picture. With her win, Julia Phillips became the first female producer to win a Best Picture Oscar.
