Vanessa Redgrave as Queen Mary Stuart

Steeping strength, fearlessness and fragility into the part of Queen Mary Stuart of Scotland, Vanessa Redgrave is meticulous and marvelous in Mary, Queen of Scots (1971). The story pits her against Elizabeth I (Glenda Jackson) as a vicious power struggle ensues and culminates in Mary's execution. It's an emotional and demanding role, but Vanessa excels and won nominations at both the Oscars and Golden Globes.

The problem with the series is that they don’t show Henry the way he looked.
