Christian Bale – Bruce Wayne, Batman Begins

Following the disastrous release of Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin in 1997, plans for a follow-up Batman film were put on hold. One of the major criticisms towards the film was the casting of George Clooney as Bruce Wayne, replacing Val Kilmer, who had taken over the role from Michael Keaton in 1995’s Batman Forever. When Warner Bros. went the route of rebooting the franchise with Christopher Nolan, they introduced a new Bruce Wayne in Christian Bale, who effortlessly slid into the role and brought new life to the character, leading to one of the most successful comic book film trilogies of all time.

I didn’t have anything necessarily against Mara’s performance as Lisbeth, but I still prefer Rapace’s over anyone’s.
