Christopher Plummer – J. Paul Getty, All the Money in the World

In one of the more extreme cases of recasting, Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World was in the eye of the storm of the #MeToo movement in 2017 when Kevin Spacey was accused of molesting underage boys. Sony cut all footage of him from the film, resulting in the immediate casting of Christopher Plummer just weeks ahead of its planned release. Amazingly enough, Ridley Scott was able to re-shoot at a cost of an additional $10 million in just eight days and was able to meet the film’s original release date. Plummer earned Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for his portrayal in the movie.
