Smokey and the Bandit

Like many horror movies, Smokey and the Bandit makes you wish you could warn the actors before it's too late. Dared to pick up a truckload of beer from Texas, and return it in a set amount of time, Bandit (Burt Reynolds) and Cledus (Jerry Reed) hit the ground running. They get distracted along the way as they pick up Carrie (Sally Field), a runaway bride. Little do they know, she left the son of Sheriff Buford T. Justice that at the altar, and now the Sheriff, and his son Junior, are hot on their trail. A comedy with car-chase action undertones, this film was nominated for an Oscar (for film editing) and a Golden Globe (Best Actress in a comedy for Field) in 1978.
