Thelma and Louise

Probably one of the most recognized road trip movies of all time, Thelma and Louise is the ultimate girl power movie. While on a weekend getaway, two women - housewife, Thelma (Geena Davis) and waitress, Louise (Susan Sarandon) - are attacked by a man who threatens them with rape. In an instinctive move, Louise shoots the man and they hop into their '66 Thunderbird to flee from the cops. Along the way the two realize a level of inner strength they never knew they possessed as they form a close, sister-like bond.
