The Butterfly Effect

Used to seeing Ashton Kutcher scare celebs half to death on MTV Punk’d, watching Kutcher step out of his jovial comfort zone to traverse the sordid and at times disturbing events of his life in The Butterfly Effect is what makes this tale worthwhile. Evan Treborn (Kutcher) spends his entire life having family and friends accuse him that his memory blackouts are just a prank he uses to get out of trouble. However, Evan has been recording his memory blips since the age of seven and when he revisits his diary, directors Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber take us on a wild ride through these mysterious gaps in Evan’s life to show that our present, future and past are never quite set in stone.
