Baz Luhrmann may only have a handful of feature films on his resumé, but he’s already attracted a couple of recurring actors. Leonardo DiCaprio first worked with Luhrmann in 1996’s Romeo + Juliet. The pair reunited 17 years later in The Great Gatsby, where DiCaprio would once again play another iconic character in English-language literature. While DiCaprio is Luhrmann’s leading man, fellow Australian Nicole Kidman is his leading lady. The two first worked together in the 2001 musical Moulin Rouge! Less than a decade later, they would reunite to pay tribute their country in 2008’s Australia.
