Tom Cruise – Tropic Thunder (2008)

Basically no one expected the actor behind the obscene and remarkably hirsute Les Grossman to be the squeaky clean and the much less hairy Tom Cruise. In a move none of us saw coming, Cruise plays the scene-stealing studio executive who refuses to let poor rookie director Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan) shut production down on the movie within a movie, Tropic Thunder. He swears a lot, yells even more, and looks like he smells like a combination of day-old cigars, Drakkar Noir, and sweat, and he's one of the most entertaining bit characters to hit the big screen in a long time.
