Familiar Character Actors
Hollywood launched The Art Carney Awards to pay tribute to character actors because while we recognize their faces, we don’t usually know their names. Named for late Oscar-winner Art Carney, best remembered as sidekick Ed Norton on The Honeymooners, the awards will give recognition to these actors who usually go unrecognized. The first recipients in Nov. 2015 included Bob Balaban, who made our list of second bananas, as well as Michael Ealy, Bruce McGill, David Paymer and CCH Pounder. Hopefully, they will all one day be recipients of the Art Carney Award. ~Sharon Salsberg
