The central antagonist in C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia series, the White Witch (a.k.a. Jadis) is responsible for freezing Narnia in the Hundred-Year Winter. She is played with icy malice by Tilda Swinton in the films, and rules over Narnia with her much-feared wand. She's breathtakingly beautiful and startlingly tall with the ability to control the minds of animals and a hobby of decorating her castle with the remains of her victims. Charming, right?
