Pretty in Pink (1986)

Pretty in Pink has a more grown-up Molly Ringwald as high school senior Andie Walsh, a hip but poor outsider, who starts to date a rich popular guy named Blane (Andrew McCarthy). But who cares, the most important part of this movie was John Cryer as Duckie. Here's a little tidbit: an alternate ending had Andie ending up with Duckie, but test audiences didn't like it. Like the flap of a butterfly's wing, if they had stuck with this ending...would Two and a Half Men have ever existed? Think about it.
