For many people, the holidays signify seemingly endless — and possibly painful — hours spent with family. The ensemble comedy Almost Christmas does a superb job of capturing the essence of both an "endless" and "painful" holiday. Set in Birmingham, the 2016 film profiles the Meyers family and the squabbles of its many spirited members — such as the boisterous Aunt May (Mo'Nique), the nostalgic Walter (Danny Glover) and the uptight Cheryl (Kimberly Elise) — over the days leading up to, and including, Christmas. It's fun, festive, and if nothing else, should be seen for Mo'Nique's fiery one-liners. Grab a glass of eggnog (and be sure to spike it with rum) for this jolly good time.
