National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

Ask someone to name their favorite holiday classics and it's tough to imagine the person coming up with a list that excludes National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. The 1989 comedy is uproariously funny (albeit outrageous) as it showcases Clark Griswold's (Chevy Chase) overly ambitious plans for his family's Christmas celebrations. His pure intentions are derailed and devastation strikes — he's left with an electrocuted cat, more (disgruntled) family members than he anticipated, his 25,000 twinkle lights trigger a city-wide power shortage, and a SWAT team turns up at his home. Normal Christmas occurrences, right? The stellar supporting cast is made up of Beverly D'Angelo, Juliette Lewis, Johnny Galecki, Diane Ladd, Doris Roberts and Randy Quaid.
