Many have Ashley Judd to thank for shedding light on Harvey Weinstein’s inappropriate behavior. In an interview with The New York Times published on Oct. 5, 2017, she stated that two decades earlier, she’d been invited to a hotel room for a breakfast meeting, only to be summoned to Weinstein’s room. He appeared in a bathrobe and asked the young actress “if he could give her a massage, or she could watch him shower.” Judd told the paper: “I said no, a lot of ways, a lot of times, and he always came back at me with some new ask. It was all this bargaining, this coercive bargaining.” After telling her mother, famous country singer Naomi Judd, about the incident, who told a Times reporter, Weinstein apparently didn’t bother Ashley again and she went on to appear in two more Miramax movies.
