Shutter (2008)

Shutter is the American remake of the 2004 Thai film of the same name, but with some minor changes. In the Thai version, the leading couple, Tun and Jane, are boyfriend and girlfriend and Tun is a student. In the remake, Ben and Jane are married and he is a photographer. In the Thai version, Tun jumps from a window and is subsequently heavily bandaged in a hospital room. The American remake has Ben electrocute himself, becoming institutionalized. Despite little indiscrepancies, both films generally share the same storyline of ghostly images developing in photographs after a tragic accident. The disturbing cause of the core conflict is also the same.
