Originally from England, Naomi Watts moved with her family to Australia when she was 14. It was there that she pursued acting and met her best friend, Nicole Kidman. She had roles in Australian productions such as Home and Away and Brides of Christ. But it wasn’t until 2001, when she landed the lead in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, that got her name on the map. She continued to captivate audiences with roles in films such as The Ring, King Kong, 21 Grams, Eastern Promises, The Painted Veil and I Heart Huckabees. Her most recent turn in 2012’s The Impossible finally landed her an overdue Academy Award nomination for Best Lead Actress.
