Although she's making her name as a respected director now, Greta Gerwig gave a charmless performance as the female romantic lead in Arthur. There's no accounting for taste, but why a rich, lovable playboy would fall for a dull and even annoying woman with no spark or personality, was beyond the understanding of most audience members.
