The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

In this 2003 movie (a remake of the 1974 movie, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), a group of friends (pictured: Eric Balfour, Jonathan Tucker, Jessica Biel, Mike Vogel and Erica Leerhsen) passing through rural Texas pick up a distressed hitchhiker who eventually commits suicide in their van. When the group tries to seek help from people in a nearby town, they come across the masked chainsaw-wielding murderer Leatherface. Although the films were marketed as being based on a true story, the plot is fictional. The character Leatherface and some minor plot details are inspired by the crimes of murderer Ed Gein, a.k.a. The Butcher of Plainfield.

Sorry, I should have added that the movie was The Amityville Horror

I first read the book before the orignial movie was released and boy did it frighten me. When I saw the movie I kept thinking about what happened and the things they didn’t put in the movie. This is still one of my favorite scary movies of all time.
